summer reading

I know I don't really have a right to be talking about this, since I've been so awfully negligent of Chronicles for the past, oh, eight months or so. But I was wondering if we're going to start some summer reading. If you want, I'd be happy to sponsor a book, but I'd have to give it a little thought before I could tell you what book it might be.

OK, I've looked over a few options, and here are my initial thoughts:

Books I have not yet read but would like to, in order of how interested I am:
-Tristram Shandy (Laurence Sterne)
-1984 (George Orwell)
-Atonement (Ian McEwan)
-Ivanhoe (Sir Walter Scott)
-Silas Marner (George Eliot)

Books I have read and would like to discuss, in no particular order:
-The Da Vinci Code (Dan Brown)
-A Tale of Two Cities (Charles Dickens)
-Great Expectations (Charles Dickens)
-Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte)
-Persuasion (Jane Austen)

I know that's a lot of books, but it's just an initial list. Thoughts would be welcome.
